THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ARCADE TOYS AND THE STEPHENSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK. WE WILL REOPEN AS SOON AS IT IS SAFE TO RESUME ACTIVITIES.
The National Museum of Arcade Toys a museum that is part of the Stephenson County Historical Museum. When you visit you can tour the entire museum campus or just the toy museum.
Wednesday through Sunday, Noon to 4PM. Last tour begins at 3PM
Closed for major holidays and during certain society events. These will be listed when we reopen.
Admission for a guided tour of the entire museum is $8 for adults and $4 for kids under 12.
Admission for just the National Museum of Arcade Toys is $5 for adults and $3 for kids under 12.
The museum also features:
- The Taylor Home Mansion- an 1857 Italianate mansion that was home to one of Freeport’s earliest families.
- The Irish Homestead Log Cabin- built ca. 1840 and moved to the property, it depicts life of early settlers to the area.
- The Millerburg one-room schoolhouse- also moved to the property, portrays rural school education is the 1920’s.
- The Museum of Local Industry- highlights local industries and businesses such as Henny Buggy Company, Stover Mfg, Burgess Battery, W T Rawleigh Co, and more.
The museum also operates a gift shop that features locally-themed products and books.
